Sirens Blare in Israel as Iran Launches Ballistic Missile Attack
This missile strike marks Iran’s first direct ballistic attack on Israeli territory in over 24 hours and comes in the aftermath of U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Following the U.S. strikes, Israel took a precautionary step by closing its airspace, the Israel Airports Authority confirmed.
In a formal announcement, the Israel Defense Forces stated that, with Defense Minister Israel Katz’s authorization and after assessing the situation, new directives would take effect from Sunday at 03:45 am (0045 GMT).
According to the update, the Home Front Command has escalated all areas across the nation from Partial and Limited Activity to Essential Activity. This change bans educational institutions, public gatherings, and workplaces unless they belong to critical sectors.
Earlier on Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump declared the successful completion of U.S. attacks targeting three Iranian nuclear sites, identifying them as “Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan.”
