The Space Force's top uniformed leader will address Guardians, joint and allied partners, and industry at Spacepower Conference, December 8-10 in Orlando

ORLANDO, FL, UNITED STATES, October 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Space Force Association (SFA) today announced that Gen. Douglas A. Schiess, Chief of Space Operations of the U.S. Space Force, will deliver a keynote address at Spacepower Conference (SPC26). The conference takes place December 8-10, 2026, at the Hilton Orlando under the theme “The Decisive Edge.”

Gen. Schiess was sworn in on September 3, 2026, as the third Chief of Space Operations in the history of the Space Force. He leads a service of more than 15,000 uniformed and civilian members. His keynote will give attendees a view of where the service stands and where it is headed. It comes as the Space Force grows, Golden Dome for America gains momentum, and recent operations show the central role of spacepower in national security.

A career space operator, Gen. Schiess entered the Air Force through ROTC in 1992 and transferred to the U.S. Space Force in 2022. He has commanded at the squadron, group, wing, joint component, and field command levels, including the 21st Space Wing and the 45th Space Wing. He served as the first Commander of U.S. Space Forces-Space and Combined Joint Force Space Component Commander for U.S. Space Command. Most recently, he was Deputy Chief of Space Operations for Operations, where he was responsible for policy for Space Force global operations, sustainment, training, and readiness. He has deployed in support of operations from Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.

“Gen. Schiess takes the helm of the Space Force at a defining moment, and we are honored that he will join the Guardians, allies, and industry partners gathered at Spacepower Conference,” said Damon Feltman, CEO, Space Force Association. “Hearing directly from the Chief of Space Operations will set the tone for three days of candid conversation about how we build, field, and fight with a decisive edge.”

Now in its fourth year, Spacepower Conference brings together the full spacepower ecosystem: Guardians at every level, joint and allied warfighters, industry innovators and investors, and the next generation of space talent. This year's program spans five stages. It includes senior leader keynotes, first-hand operator debriefs, and sessions on artificial intelligence, space nuclear power, in-space servicing and refueling, and the Golden Dome mandate. SPC26 also closes out America's 250th anniversary year.
